My photo
My name is Doug and I like to travel to.... well, anywhere really... I've combined this with my fairly recent love of photographs to make this travel blog. If I find it interesting I take photos and I post them here, and I try to find a bit of cultural insight too. Please leave a comment or use the comment boxes to reach me. I usually reply within a few days!

Search here for my old blog posts by the date that I posted them...

Mitch & Doug's big day out

Instead of going to Genoa, me and my new friend Mitch (also a crewmate) decided to take advantage of a spare day by heading in the opposite direction on the train, to a town called Arenzano. From there we decided to walk along the coast until we came across, well, another train station! Here's just a few pictures of our journey along the coast and some quite idyllic places, beach spots and interesting graffiti, before we got to the town of Cogoleto.

All in all, a fairly romantic day out!

A mind-bending moment
The most northernly beach in the western mediterranean.
I'm sure that in the top left of this photo, the sign says "Don't cross the railway lines". That's why they should make the platform higher. We Brits know the way to do it...

How often does laundry get stolen?
I guess when you feel the need to tell the world...
