My photo
My name is Doug and I like to travel to.... well, anywhere really... I've combined this with my fairly recent love of photographs to make this travel blog. If I find it interesting I take photos and I post them here, and I try to find a bit of cultural insight too. Please leave a comment or use the comment boxes to reach me. I usually reply within a few days!

Search here for my old blog posts by the date that I posted them...

Visiting St. Tropez

So this is the difference between entering any old port on a motor yacht, and returning home from a 7 month deployment on a T42 destroyer (which I witnessed, seeing my old ship return home from the Falklands at the end of last month).

The yacht is about to berth in St. Tropez. That is one of my colleagues. I rather like the boats that are berthed either side of us I have to say. I think maybe in the future I'd like to work on a yacht that has sails. Seems a bit more "proper"

  1. At last - out of the engine room and onto the dockside of - say - St Tropez! Cant think why you didnt prefer the Gloucester and Port Stanley. Can we come too next time?
